After training a snail for trainer Jack, the the old man will come and talk to you once again. This time he will talk to you about the market and how he will always buy materials from you (this includes wood and ores from the mines) to make money (silver coins).
Dialogue:

If you will run out of money, you always can bring me some materials to the marketplace!
I will always buy them from you.
Ok then, get back to work and bring me some wood!
