Currency is found throughout Miner's Settlement in different forms--gems, shards, silver, and gold coins. Although each have their own primary functions, they can be thought of as an exchangeable resource to receive various other items required to ascend within the game.

Silver Coins

Silver coins are one of the earliest forms of currency that can be received by selling any mineral at the Old Man's market and gift box rewards.

Shards

Shards are a form of currency used in Navi's airport to acquire incomplete scheme parts from the chests found there. They can be collected from caravan rewards at the inn, quest rewards, gift box rewards, duplicate schemes already completed, and scrapping any extra, unneeded materials at goblin silo. In later progression, shards become a necessary crafting component for uber scrolls and are required for gear enchantments.

Gems

Gems are often seen more as a premium-type currency. They are acquired thru in-app purchases and any flash sale packs (including VIP). That's not all! Free methods include quest rewards, gift box rewards, and completed achievements. They easily have the most abundant uses and commonly causes confusion how/where they should be spent. Uses range anywhere from inventory expansion, airport chests, pet parts, gear schemes, materials like trial keys and uber scrolls, revival after falling in battle, and more.

Gold Coins

The newest addition, gold coins are viewed as a player to player trading token which can be used in the open market. Each player will receive 110 coins in their journey towards endgame, afterwards it is up to the player to trade amongst each other to gain (..or lose..) additional coins. From time to time, events will introduce additional means to coins (or other rewards). Outside of the open market, they are used in item enchantment in growing quantities as the ascension level increases.
