The inn provides a solid source for early to mid-game shards in exchange for basic ores and minerals. Upon meeting, the innkeeper, Marf and completing her quest, you will be given the ability to upgrade the building further and/or send off caravans on journeys. Like few other locations, the Inn can be upgraded for additional benefits at the expense of some easy resources. For example, new caravan options will be given upon unlocking level one(1), three(3), and six(6): the basic caravan, the continental caravan, and the intercontinental caravan respectively. In total, there are only six (6) levels in which it can be upgraded currently.

Within the GUI menu, you will see your caravan options listed. In the top, left-hand corner of each caravan tab, a level indicator and upgrade arrow are shown. Tapping on the arrow will take you into a submenu to level up that specific one. In doing so, you are given a permanent time reduction and chance for increased shard drops at the expense of extra material requirements and silver coin costs. In the early hours of gameplay, obtaining some of these resources may seem extremely tedious; however, you will find yourself using this method as a more passive way to farm for shards in due time.

Another thing to note is the amount of time required for each caravan. You may have noticed, after each use, the time required gradually increases upon its return. In fact, you are correct, but eventually it does cap itself off around 5 hours per journey. As we have briefly discussed prior, leveling your caravans will aid you with some time reductions though it is minimal. For each caravan, the amount of time reduced are five(5), ten(10), and twenty(20) minutes for level one(1), two(2), and three(3) respectively. Additionally, VIP will provide a 50% shorter journey time if you are willing to support the developers in this manner. There is one last option to speed up your caravan’s journey—watching ads. More often than not, this is the least favored method; however it can be very effective in a pinch. The downside to this, possessing VIP will not have any affect on eliminating these ads since the time reduction is boosted.

Furthermore, here are extended descriptions of each caravan:

Basic caravan

The cheapest and least rewarding of the three is the basic caravan, simply because the early-game resource requirement is substantially lower than the other two caravans. This option becomes available as soon as the inn is first repaired. The resources used in this caravan are two shipping crates of wood and rocks, yielding 5, 10, 15, or 25 shards per crate depending on caravan level and used resource amount. To begin this journey, a small cost of silver coins are required in the amounts of 500, 1000, 1250, or 6000 depending on level. < table >

Continental caravan

The mid-tier choice is the continental caravan, providing a slight, improved result than the prior caravan. This option becomes available once the Inn reaches level three(3). The resources used in this caravan are three shipping crates of coal and iron, yielding 10, 15, 25, or 35 shards per crate depending on caravan level and used resource amount. To begin this journey, a fair cost of silver coins are required in the amounts of 2500, 5000, 10k, or 20k depending on level. < table >

Intercontinental caravan

The single, most rewarding choice is the intercontinental caravan, but it is not without its early-game flaws. This option becomes available once the Inn reaches level six(6); it’s final level. The resources used in this caravan are four shipping crates of gold and platinum, yielding 20, 25, 35, or 40 shards per crate depending on caravan level and used resource amount. To begin this journey, a costly amount of silver coins are required in the amounts of 10k, 15k, 30k, or 50k depending on level. As you see, this costly pricing may result in a more difficult grind for shards within the early hours of gameplay. < table >
